In December, 25 teachers from the Houston area attended a training led by Pierre-Yves Roux on the theme of “Développer les compétences orales dans la classe de français langue étrangère.” Participants came from both public and private schools and teach at a variety of levels (K-12 and beyond).  

 The seven-hour event, held on December 8, 2021, was made possible by the French Consulate General of France (who organized Mr. Roux’s U.S. tour), and St. John’s School (which graciously hosted the event in their beautiful building and provided lunch, coffee and snacks). The AATF Houston chapter provided breakfast and organized the day’s logistics. 

Teachers who requested it obtained a Certificate of Attendance from the French Consulate.

Overall, participants praised the 6-hour training as informative, rewarding and the perfect “brain break” from the December rush.
